خلاصه داستان : این داستان در پس‌زمینهٔ آزمایش‌های باکتریولوژیک انجام‌شده توسط یگان ۷۳۱ ارتش امپراتوری ژاپن در شمال‌شرق چین روایت می‌شود و از خلال سرنوشت پرآشوب یک فرد عادی، جنایات هولناک این یگان را آشکار می‌سازد.
