خلاصه داستان : راب کُل، پزشک جوانی که از اصفهان گریخته، به لندن می‌رسد با این نیت که دانش پزشکی را گسترش دهد. اما در میانهٔ دسیسه‌های دربار گرفتار می‌شود و برای نجات جان بیماران و به‌دست‌آوردن جایگاهش می‌جنگد؛ نبردی که او را با عمیق‌ترین حقیقت انسانی روبه‌رو می‌کند: تلاش بی‌پایان برای کاستن از رنج آدمیان.
