خلاصه داستان : مایجا جزیره طوفانی، فیلمی درام به کارگردانی تیینا لیمی Tiina Lymi است. استان فیلم درباره‌ی زندگی زنی به نام مایجا است که در قرن نوزدهم در منطقه‌ی مجمع‌الجزایر آلاند در فنلاند زندگی میکند. مایجا به اجبار با ماهی‌گیری به نام یانه ازدواج میکند و با سختی‌های زندگی در این منطقه دورافتاده روبرو میشود.

Maja and Janne move to the barren and remote island of Stormskerry, where survival is a daily struggle. Growing up in a world of old values, Maja becomes aware of a new era: a woman can be an equal partner instead of a mere bystander. The couple have children, and life is good until trouble sets in: war arrives on the island, Janne is forced to flee from the English troops, and Maja and the children are imprisoned. The family also faces many financial difficulties and death. Years pass, but Maja remains strong and stays in Stormskerry despite all the hardships and difficulties.

Baby Girl, 30, a poet with a bachelor's degree in arts, is anguished because of her relationship with Pirkka, a relatively smart, young man. Baby Girl's parents, Eila and Rampe, do their best to become friends with Pirkka and his elegant mother. Through coincidence and error Eila occupies her summerhouse neighbors' empty luxury villa. When Pirkka's mother drops by, Eila lies that she and Rampe own the fancy house. The showing off and lying escalate when Eila's mother and sister show up. The real owners of the house, an upper-class couple, Thomas and Monica, are driven away to Eila and Rampe's modest cottage.
